Field Engineer 1
Working hours:
General working hours will be between 9-5 / 8-4, Depending on visits, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch. These hours can vary dependent upon business needs.
Duties:
This role includes working within multiple business & education customer settings, throughout the week. The engineer will be proactive and self-motivated. The forward-thinking engineer will need to be able to work solo as well as a team. The role will require willingness to learn new solutions and self-educate.
The daily role will be working from our help-desk daily, dealing with tickets from 1st line to 2nd line support requests. Hourly triaging of the help-desk to ensure that the varying urgency of the tickets is fulfilled, alongside daily checks of backups, services, and access.
Duties do also include, being involved in various installations, including but not limited to wireless solutions, Interactive Screens, and cabling.
The role will be ideal for anyone who wants to skyrocket their professional development alongside support and develop our customer. Every day will be a learning curve for the applicant alongside delivering our excellent customer service and technical support here at BlueOrange.
Having the ability to clearly communicate both technically and in a non-technical manner is essential.
Day to day responsibilities / Requirements:
- Ensure high levels of performance within the network(s).
- Management of Virtual Servers, Operating systems, and end user device estate.
- Monitor, Diagnose and resolve any ticket to the best of your ability, escalating where required, in a timely manner, in line with SLA.
- Manage crisis situations effective and work under pressure to resolve problems, if required.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line IT support and training, sharing technical knowledge.
- Curate technical documentation where required.
- Working within the technical team to implement new solutions.
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining in house and 3rd party software
- Build strong relations both within BlueOrange and customer environment(s)
- Clear Enhanced DBS required (Blue Orange will undertake)
Experience and Qualifications:
- Highly motivated, driven, and proactive
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Meticulous with attention to detail
- Excellent organisation and time management skills to meet targets, deadlines and adhere to SLA’s.
- Microsoft Stack and all Windows Operating systems experience
- Ability to identify root cause of problems and implement solutions not temporary fixes.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management solutions
- The ability to offer guidance and support with best practise methodology in mind.
- Networking experience (LAN/WAN/VLAN)

Field Engineer 2 – Fixed location
Working hours:

This role includes working within one of our private education customers, throughout the week. The engineer will be proactive and self-motivated. The forward-thinking engineer will need to be able to work solo as well as a team. The customer educates students from Reception to Sixth form, so the role will require willingness to learn new solutions and self-educate.
The role will be working from our help-desk daily, dealing with tickets from 1st line to 2nd line support requests. Hourly triaging of the help-desk to ensure that the varying urgency of the tickets is fulfilled, alongside daily checks of backups, services, and access.

- Excellent organisation and time management skills to meet targets, deadlines and adhere to SLA’s.
- Microsoft Stack and all Windows Operating systems experience
